Located on a lake, SIGNIEL SEOUL is in Seoul's Songpa neighborhood, an area with great shopping. Dongdaemun History and Culture Park and Dongdaemun History & Culture Park are cultural highlights, and some of the area's notable landmarks include N Seoul Tower and Gyeongbok Palace. Check out an event or a game at Seoul Olympic Stadium, and consider making time for Lotte World, a top attraction not to be missed.
This building was gorgeous, the staff all spoke fluent English, we had a lovely tea time and the sauna was the nicest I’ve ever been to. The only problem we had during the whole trip was in the pool. Apparently in Korea, it’s a rule to wear a head covering in the pool. The hotel offered caps, but they were all too small. My friend and I have long hair. The particularly disturbing part was that the worker would only talk to me and not my friend, even though we were together. I’m white, my friend is black, and we are both American and speak fluent English. He said “your friend needs to wear one too.” Why would he say it to me like that? Just say it to her, since we’re both right there. The whole experience was weird and awkward. I know Korea is very closed off from the rest of the world and it is not common for the average Korean to see foreigners, however at a hotel of this caliber should have staff that is racially sensitive. I hope the hotel can provide its staff with racial sensitivity training so it doesn’t happen to another guest.
