Because it was so reasonable I had very low expectations BUT the room was clean, mattress comfortable, all people at front desk were fantastic, breakfast was perfect and way better than most and location was convenient.
The smell of marijuana in an adjacent room kept me awake all night. Then the noise in the morning woke me up at 6:30. I understand it's difficult to do anything about that when the room opens up to the parking lot however there was little or no soundproofing to try to mitigate it. The fact that people were smoking in the rooms was the major complaint though.
The hot water was awesome, and the location was EVERYTHING! Will definitely be checking in again!

Run down, in desperate need of a remodel. I paid for a “pool view” king room on hotels.com and requested a top floor. When we checked in at 430 pm, was told no availability for this and “I don’t why they offer that when they have no idea of our availability”, as if they disavowed any relationship with the website. When I agreed to change to a 2 doubles room facing the pool, we were given one, but it was really ugly with old uncomfortable beds, tattered carpet and a stopped up bathtub drain. After showering in ankle deep dirty bath water, someone came up to unstop it the next morning but it still barely drained. Worst of all, after using the “clean” towel, I noticed a brown stain on the corner that honestly smelled of FECES. Worst thing I’ve ever encountered in a hotel. Only stayed here because dogs allowed but wouldn’t even let my dog stay there again! If you want a positive, the location is good to downtown Sarasota and nearby amenities, and it was very quiet if facing pool side. They allow smoking outside rooms which allows smoke to filter in via a/c units, so what’s the point of “nonsmoking” rooms? Luckily on this particular weekend we were not near any smokers, disruptive or unsavory types, but this is the type of place you should expect to find them. Really a gross place, don’t stay here!
