With low-cost airport hotels so hit and miss, I didn't have particularly high expectations when I booked at the Gateway Inn and Suites. Price and free parking were my primary search criteria. It turned out to be a really good choice. Room was clean and of a decent size; there was a microwave and fridge, though no iron. Bed was comfortable though with a couple of squeaks from the frame. Heater worked effectively - since it was February in the Bay Area, I didn't need to try the A/C. Reception staff were efficiently friendly, and the free WiFi was fast enough to stream Netflix lag-free on my laptop. Next time I'll ask for a room not by the main road, as there was definitely some traffic noise (it settled down between 11pm and 5am), but in all I was really impressed.
