The location is pretty central and with the metro and train right by the door.
Staff and Service should not be put in the same category.
While the staff was extremely friendly and willing to do a good job, the overall service was not up to the standard of a 5 star. It lacked attention for detail and consistency.
Room service was a bad experience: twice. Food was cold and uncovered, no bread to go with the meal, same soup was good one day and terrible the next one.
The staff however, was apologetic enough and tried to make up for the poor service.
Cleaning staff was very friendly too, but the cleaning itself was inconsistent. The amenities weren't replaced every day. There was always something missing. Either coffee, or a soap, or tissues. Attention for detail is for me, what differentiates an average property from a great one.
The breakfast was very good. Staff was very attentive, served good coffee and there were good a la carte options available, in addition to a great buffet.
The rooms were nice, the beds were incredibly comfortable. Nice view too.
Guest relations and front desk staff, as well as the maitre were very professional and attentive. Particularly, Marta and Cynthia.
Some investment in staff training, on how to giving a "wow" experience at first, rather than compensating for poor experiences here and there, would really take this property to the next level.
Despite the poor experiences here and there, I would still go back because of the staff.
