About this property

The Mettā Home: A Nugget of History & Goodwill

The Mettā Home: is one of loving-kindness, harmony and sincere wish for the genuine happiness of others who visit our home. It may appear unassuming from the outside but step inside and it’s the perfect juxtaposition of harmony and history. This is an old home located on a quiet block in historic Church Hill. We love our home and hope that you will too! It was built in 1895 for the son of the of Mr and Mrs Hudson, their house is right next door! The flow of the home is wonderful and gets great natural light. The entire house excluding the bathrooms, has original pine hardwood floors. We ask that you remove your shoes when coming in the house to help preserve these floors. on the first floor you have the living room, dining area with bar (wine fridge), half bath: with washer and dryer, and kitchen (gas stove, fridge, dishwasher, and microwave) with our favorite place just off the kitchen, the screened in back porch! We enjoy our morning coffee and watch the birds, so peaceful. In the evenings we sit out there and unwind. On the second floor is the master bedroom: which has a king bed (Tuft and Needle) and a small reading porch off the bedroom. The second bedroom has a queen bed. In between both bedrooms is our den, where you can watch TV: cable, Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon. The full bathroom is also located on the 2nd floor. We are in walking distance to soooo much! and an easy Uber or Lyft to downtown, the Fan, Carytown, and the trendy micro brew haven Scott's Addition. It's perfect if you are looking for a quaint place located in a historic and walkable neighborhood!

    Great House

Clean, well stocked, close to good eating places, comfortable to relax at the end of the day. Easy access to roads to go anywhere. Thanks Heather and Eric!

      Business stop-over one night stay

Great. Wish we could have stayed more than one night, but this was a quick business trip. Excellent location... close to churches, historic sites, and excellent restaurants. If we have the opportunity, we will be back.

        Beautiful and comfortable

My husband and I stayed for our wedding weekend and everything was perfect. We loved the look of the home, and felt at home inside. It was a lovely retreat between all the wedding weekend craziness. My girls and I got ready on wedding day here and it was awesome to have so many places to prep, feel comfortable and beautiful, and chat up all morning and afternoon. Check in was quick and easy - which we were grateful for as we were running 40 minutes late to our rehearsal due to bad traffic on the way down. We would LOVE to stay again in the future. Our cat, Ophelia, felt right at home and loved being able to see out the front door & bedroom windows.

          Really comfortable

We had a great time hanging out on the porch in the evenings. It was a great stay.

            Wonderfully quaint

We do enjoyed our stay! We honestly wanted to stay longer, but had plans to go to Busch Gardens. We loved how convenient it was to eatery’s and coffee shops. The neighborhood was adorable. We can’t stay enough how much we loved the house and it’s decor. Thanks again for having us!
