Not what I expected from this brand
Sorry to moan, I don’t often! Despite travelling extensively when I worked I never stayed in a Malmaison before. So, now retired, I was disappointed on arriving at the hotel-recommended NCP car park to see the very high charges. These turned out to be only-partly mitigated by the voucher from the hotel reception. We were going out in the car in the evening to meet friends, so in total our 19 hour overnight stay cost us £24. The standard room we booked was a good size, with plenty of storage spaces and everything as stated in the description. Unfortunately when we came to showering we found the shower only produced a red-hot trickle which refused all attempts at improvement. Fortunately there was a bath. We reported it to reception on our way out and were assured it would be fixed. On return there was no mention of repair, but in the room it was clear someone had looked at it so we assumed it was now OK, wrongly it turned out the following morning. Continental Breakfast was a pretty limited selection, the pastries ran out before we’d had any and weren’t topped up even though several guests had come in after us. On checkout we mentioned the shower again (different receptionist), to be fair she offered to deduct anything we’d had from the minibar, but we hadn’t had anything. So I’ve waited a couple of weeks to write this review just in case they send me a voucher, but no, nothing at all.
