"We took two tours arranged by the resort: Manuel Antonio national guided walking tour and mysteries of the night (within the property). On the first, we saw three types of monkeys (white faced, howler and squirrel), sloths, and some birds. It was very hot the day we went, and we were very tired; though the tour was good, not that impressed given that this park was considered the best in the country. The night tour was much more impressive with so many frogs and toads with their unique sound apart from some nonvenomous snakes. It was worth our time and money. We found more sloths, toucans, and birds within the property than in the national park. The resort had a host of swimming pools, great breakfast and a variety of restaurants. The nearby beach town of Manuel Antonio was very small and the shuttle timings were not that convenient. The beach was just OK. The staff at the resort were all very friendly and they introduced us to the theme of Costa Rica, “Pure Vida” and lived up to it. The room was well lit and the service excellent. I would recommend the resort but it may be a little pricey. "

"Shana by the beach is an amazing boutique resort. Immersed in the rain forest with amazing views including the ocean. We were on a ladies trip and it was perfect. The staff are so welcoming and they love their job, literally as their shirts say it too. Ironically I didn't notice until my girlfriend called it out but genuinely they are so nice. We had the most amazing fried snapper and were so relaxed after hanging poolside, we ordered in one night in the evening. We also did the Cataraman sunset tour which I highly recommend. The drive to get to Shana is worth it but be prepared as it is a hike and once you are there, you have trails to the beach which is part of the rain forest and be on guard as the white belly monkeys will visit. I plan to go back with my family. "

"Loved unit #10! We called it the hobbit house! Loved the painted murals on the ceiling . Surrounding patios which was part of our unit was spacious and overlooking the property where we witnessed mackals nesting in the early morning . Food was excellent !"

"If you're looking for a quiet, quaint place to stay with amazing customer service, this is the place for you! We spent 4 nights at Gaia and thoroughly enjoyed our room and the staff. We booked a jungle view room and it was exactly what we expected ..clean, quiet and great AC. The next morning, Boris, the owner approached us at breakfast and informed us that he wanted to move us. He moved us to an amazing suite with a rooftop deck overlooking the ocean! Totally unexpected but appreciated! Carlos helped us get to know the place and helped us line up transportation to Tamarindo at the end of our trip and Jimmy made sure we were always fed and had our beverages whether it was morning coffee or evening cocktails. We enjoyed the vegan breakfast each morning as well as a couple of options for dinner. The view of the macaws each evening topped off the view The hotel provided us with transportation to the beach as well as set us up with a trip to the park. Overall, it was an amazing stay and we would do it again! Special thanks to the gentleman who came and saved us from our unexpected guest as well as our pool side bartender who we watched the monkeys with. Apologies for not knowing your names."

"We had the pleasure of staying a week at this offering and enjoyed every moment of it. It is private and very easily accessed on the hill overlooking the Quepos marina and beaches. It is located within the grounds of Las Cascadas boutique hotel and parking is on the secure private grounds. The brothers Dylan and Brandon run the place and were wonderful to us and always available to help in any way. They were very helpful to recommend and choose excursions that best fit our hoped for adventures. The place is very clean and insect free. I would highly recommend this place. Fortunately while we were there, it only rained one day for about a half hour, but very hard. This is the place to sit dryly on your covered front patio and enjoy the tropical downpour while surrounded by a tropical forest on a hillside."
