Take in the wetland that runs through our property providing additional treats from Mother Nature including bald eagles, great herons, hawks, Canadian geese, and red foxes (after all, this is Virginia hunt country). Sit at the fire pit patio (an old silo slab) and enjoy an outdoor meal or glass of wine. Daily continental breakfast of organic fresh fruit, yogurt, and pastry. Organic orange juice, milk, half and half, cereal, coffee and tea are stocked in the kitchen. Guests are welcome to bring additional items to cook. Dunthorpe Farm is more that just a cottage B & B. They also share their home with two cats and two dogs which guests are asked to enjoy en lieu of bringing their own pets. The cottage is not suitable for children under 10 years of age. One of the loveliest places we have ever stayed.

We loved everything about the cottage--it is full of light and the setting couldn't be lovelier. The cottage has an open floor plan in which everything flows naturally, and all the furniture is extremely comfortable. We could have happily relaxed all day in the cottage and several timeshad to force ourselves to leave for our day trips :-). The kitchen is easy to work in, and the adjoining laundry room has an extra fridge and lots of extra space. If you're interested in Civil War battlefields (as we are), you'll find that Antietam and Harpers Ferry and very close by, and both Gettysburg and Manassas can be each be reached in about an hour. Kelly gave us a warm and helpful introduction to the cottage, and we also enjoyed chatting several times with Phil about the history of the property and the area. We travel a great deal and are pretty fussy about where we stay. This was, in every way, one of our favorite spots and we plan to return.

Fabulous in every way! Beautiful pastoral setting with all activities nearby. 5 stars all the way

Idyllic from start to end. Owners considered and anticipated every single need. Quiet restful and relaxing enjoyed our evenings around the fire pit with bottle of local wine looking forward to a return in the spring. Truely amazing vrbo experience

            Beautiful place!

The cottage is roomy, comfortable and very homey. The surroundings are peaceful and quiet yet very close to many wineries and restaurants. Thoroughly enjoyed out stay.
