Overall this is a pretty nice resort I’ve been coming to with my family for about 30 years. Last stay for wife’s bday staycation had some bumps along the way, but the big problem was that we went down to the pool and upon returning to our room the keys didn’t work. Our room was 4th floor, far from reception. Took forever to get people up there to let us in, then said the batteries were dead in the door lock thing so had to crowbar our door open, change the whole thing out, etc etc. So anyways, we missed my wife’s massage and were about 20 minutes late to our dinner. Also had to order room service in the meantime for the kids, and it really threw off the whole trip. To add insult to injury, I get a call at dinner from the spa lady saying they are going to have to charge us for missing our massage appointment—super snarky. I explained the situation and she just says, “Hold on”....puts me on hold for a short bit, gets back on and says to not worry about it that they will take care of it. Like she was still mad we didn’t call to let them know, when we had a complete debacle going with our crying 10-week old baby, 8- year old son that just fractured his foot on some pacer block by the pool so he was sobbing....just a mess. And they made us to feel like it was our fault. No real apology or compensation which was all just kind of lousy. So......overall not a pleasant stay. We can roll with the punches and know stuff happens but this wasn’t a great experience at all.
