I’ve stayed in Comfort Inns (and Suites) in at least 4 states. The properties have always been very nice, comfortable, and clean. This one wasn’t. This hotel is in dire need of upgrades to both hard and soft goods, the pool, and some facilities. Hotel staff, on the other hand, were very courteous, pleasant and helpful. The king bed was comfortable and the sheets smelled like bleach, which I appreciate. However, the upholstered chair and ottoman and carpeted floor were absolutely filthy. My daughters feet were filthy after walking around barefoot.
The pool was ok, as in my child enjoyed swimming in it; however, as a consumer, I found it to be in great disrepair. The gutters/sides of the pool were dirty and the paint was cracked, peeling, and chipped all over the 4 walls, steps and floor. The ladders were not securely fastened to the walls, nor was the handrail at the wide, entry steps. Pretty dangerous for the young, old, or anyone with balance issues.
There are 3 guest floors. The ice machines only worked on 2 floors, and then only on 1 floor on my day of departure.
There is ongoing construction/road work outside of the hotel. It wasn’t noisy at all, just unsightly, haphazard and very confusing. Very easy to miss the entrance when arriving or find yourself in an accident trying to exit the premises.
Just do some upgrades, fix the pool and inform guests about the construction. prior to arrival.
