My feedback is as follows: 1.) The description said that the property had a heated pool. There was no pool heater on the property. I called and the customer service group said that it would kick in but due to the cold night the night prior it was probably just running slow. It never did kick on and we couldn’t use the pool. We had some local friends look and verify that no heater existed. 2.) Trash. The trash containers were overflowing when we arrived. We ended up putting them out on trash day. 3.) Carpets. They had throw rugs on top of carpets which created a safety hazard. They slip and roll up and it’s just unsafe. We had to move them during our stay. 4.) The owners left their car in the driveway. That significantly limited out space. This was unexpected. 5.) The security system had audible alerts every single time you opened a door. This interrupted sleep for folks. 6.) The owners had the garage restricted and signs asking to not enter. To me that felt unsafe. I like to know what’s in a house that I’m staying in. 7.) The HOA said you can’t fish in the lakes. The website said that you could. Upsides: 1.) It’s close to WalMart 2.) It is private and peaceful In short - I’ll never ever stay here again.

As prior review indicates the property was under “emergency repairs” and was not “habitable”. I sent several messages prior to our reservation to inquire status of property, December 7, 12, and December 21 after seeing the initial review left in November. No one got back in contact with me. I called when i received the key code Friday before my reservation and I realized much like the last tenant we were moved to a different property without any prior notice. Due to the late notice we had no choice but to continue to move forward with the reservation. Upon arrival we noticed a car in the driveway which we were informed by housekeeping was broken down and could not be moved. This pushed one of our vehicles out to the street. Also there was one roll of toilet paper for two bathrooms, ants throughout the residence and no “complimentary” heat for the pool. I called the rental property JC vacation homes and was informed the pool heat was afteralll complimentary and not much could be done with the temperatures being so low (a cold 70 degrees in Florida), also the first roll of toilet paper was complimentary, however there should have been toilet paper for both bathrooms, they did not provide this as part of the rental - nothing was sent indicating we needed to supply this. Regarding the ants the rental company said they would send someone out to treat for the ants -no one showed. Of course not before the rental agent shared that if food is left out it will draw ants, despite we had just arrived to the property. The ants were in the microwave, counters, bathrooms. Variety of dead bugs on the floor in the kitchen. Another issue i take with this rental is the lack of information. There were no instructions provided on standards to what to expect upon arrival or departure. Typically we are given details prior to during and following rental. I have been renting through VRBO for a number of years and find it hard to believe this is an acceptable standard for rentals.

Unfortunately, I am unable to review this house that we booked and paid for, as we were changed to another property less than 24 hours before travelling. We had already rejected the replacement as not suitable for our needs when we were first looking. We would not have even found out that we had been moved had we not realised that we hadn't received the lockbox code email for gaining access, and then made attempts to contact the owners. The apparent reason for the change was that this house was having to have "emergency repairs". Whilst actually there, we saw no evidence of this going on, and indeed, it looked as though someone was actually staying there, so I would have to question if the real reason for the change was that the property had been doubled booked, and we were the losers. Although the house that we were put in had similar accommodation and facilities to this one, and we had no complaint with the general standards of the internal fixtures and fittings and the internal cleanliness, there were a number of issues that we felt needed addressing, including poor and dirty pool deck furniture. After bringing these to the attention of the owners, some efforts were made to correct them with varying degrees of success. The 'spa' in the pool never worked. In fact there were no user controls for it at all. We have stayed in many pool homes with a spa attached to the pool, so know what to expect, and the one on the pool where we were put was not it. Because it was late in the year with low sun angles, and the fact that the pool backed directly onto a 'forest' - literally a few feet - the pool deck was at best gloomy for most of the day, which was the main reason that we had rejected this house when first making a choice. Also, there was no manual detailing things like refuse bin collection days, user guides for the facilities - wifi, pool etc - contact numbers, local facilities, which is something I have never known at any other house we have ever stayed in. So, whilst I would dearly have liked to leave a positive review for this particular house, I'm afraid I can't as I didn't end up staying there. As a family, we have been travelling to Florida and staying in pool homes in this area for more than thirty years, and whilst we have had the occasional less-than-ideal stay, this was by far our most disappointing ...
