We were greeted by a friendly clerk who later answered our questions about the hotel's history, and about the area. We had booked a 'cabin' room, and the clerk was careful to explain this meant toilet & shower down the hall. (We knew already, but are glad he would tell people who might not be aware.). The hotel's decor is charmingly minimalistic, clean, and comfortable to the max. There is a kitchen for use, and the nice front desk area with the fireplace is easily accessible to all. The hotel is not for people with disabilities as it is up 2 flights of stairs. And extras. like soap by the sink in each room, aren't provided. But there are lots of towels and bathrobes for your treks to the shower rooms. Lots of toilet and shower rooms; I doubt there is ever a wait for one. The Norblad is located near the Library, the Historical Society, downtown shops, the Maritime Museum, the Blue Scorcher Co-op Cafe, a food co-op -- it's a walker's paradise.
