My partner runs an annual event in Astoria, so we needed a comfortable place to stay with the volunteers who help us run it. We found Kathy's house which could accommodate us, our 'maybes' and one little doggy. It ended up being 5 of us and the place was huge and comfortable for everyone. There are 3 bedrooms, two with Queen size beds and one with a bunk and a twin. The beds and sheets are soft. The house is super neat and clean--even the basement. And it was close to where we needed to be, so we were able to commute and walk around easily. I'll probably book this place again next year when we head back.
The house is old and has that old house charm, complete with butler's kitchen and clawfoot tub. It's made out of old growth fir. It's a neat place for sure.
My only warning is that it's up a super steep driveway. I ended up parking on the street below because my car is a stick shift and I didn't want to risk e-brake failure. Also, there's only one shower so if you have a big group, be ready to share. We didn't have a problem with that at all, though.
