    Lovely Old Craftsman

Home was as described. It was clean and orderly. Beautiful woodwork throughout home. Backyard was perfect for those with a dog - fenced and safe. We enjoyed the views from the front porch swing and the walkability of the neighborhood. Our family spent a week here and would happily return for another week in the future.

    Charming house with great character!

Thr house was exactly as described and accomodated our large family well. The location was great. We slept well in the beds and really enjoyed the porch and games/puzzles. Parking really is an issue with this house and had a very unfriendly neighbor yell at us while trying to figure out parking. We ended up parking down the alley, on the street which wasnt a huge issue but was inconvenient. It was exactly as we expected which was pleasant and we appreciated the quirkiness of this charming period house.

    fun and comfortable family experience

We spent a week while attending the Oregon State Grange convention at the fairgrounds nearby. The grandchildren loved exploring the closets and waking up to a living room full of rainbows from the beveled windowpanes. Takes a confident driver to park in the garage, but so convenient once you do. I'd love to come back.

    Comfortable home for the weekend

My partner runs an annual event in Astoria, so we needed a comfortable place to stay with the volunteers who help us run it. We found Kathy's house which could accommodate us, our 'maybes' and one little doggy. It ended up being 5 of us and the place was huge and comfortable for everyone. There are 3 bedrooms, two with Queen size beds and one with a bunk and a twin. The beds and sheets are soft. The house is super neat and clean--even the basement. And it was close to where we needed to be, so we were able to commute and walk around easily. I'll probably book this place again next year when we head back. The house is old and has that old house charm, complete with butler's kitchen and clawfoot tub. It's made out of old growth fir. It's a neat place for sure. My only warning is that it's up a super steep driveway. I ended up parking on the street below because my car is a stick shift and I didn't want to risk e-brake failure. Also, there's only one shower so if you have a big group, be ready to share. We didn't have a problem with that at all, though.

    Warm, Cozy, Convenient

Our stay at your classic Astoria home was quite lovely. We were cozy, the 8 of us (5 adults, 3 young children), and the beds were quite comfortable. The home is well-appointed and everything works well, including wi-fi and TV. Since we did all our cooking at home, we were a bit disappointed with the lack of supplies such as mixing bowls, eating bowls (for 8 of us, there were only 6 soup bowls), zero casserole dishes. The oven was not clean when we used it. For those reasons I have rated 4 stars rather than 5. These slight problems can be easily fixed!
