    Intriguing place

The house was from the 1850s but in good condition. The room was large, lots of space to move around. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was very clean but there were some loose tiles near the shower. The house itself was so interesting to poke around in and it was decorated in the style of the period which I really liked. The breakfast was buffet style which was fine and there was lots of food to choose from. The wifi was free and fast, but there was no tv in the room. The air conditioning worked well. However, there weren't many people in the house and I felt a little concerned about that. The place to pick up the key was across the property (it was a little confusing but it was fine once I realized where the key was). The property was situated in a retreat kind of interfaith community which I didn't realize. It was also fine but I would have liked to have known that up front. The surrounding area was gorgeous and very quiet and peaceful.

    4/5 Good

My female companion was enchanted. So was I

The house is on the grounds of a Universalist or Unity church conference center. But as merely a guest, we were welcomed pleasently, but no one foisted their views on us. Beautfully furnished victorian mansion . Simple but healthful breakfast. A great experince.

Pros: The beautifully furnished Gilmour Sloane house was worth the entire visit

Cons: Breakfast was primarily offered to people staying there for the various meetings.Reminder:this isn't a typical hotel experience. It's for conferences

Location: The mansion faces main street and just a mile up from the center of town. Stony Point battlefield memorial park is nearby. All kinds of restaurants.

    5/5 Excellent

    Nice, quiet location!

A lovely and quiet place to get away from it all and to see everything in the mid/lower-Hudson Valley. If I were to want to return to the area for another vacation, I would definitely return.

    5/5 Excellent

    Quaint colonial

A very cozy room, with antique decor. The lobby was equally adorned with rustic decor completing the colonial feel of New England. Room was very clean. House is just one building of a much larger property that draws groups for conferences and retreats.
