My husband, 17 year old son ,10 year old daughter, and I just returned from our 3 week stay at Villas Del Sol. We absolutely loved it! The entire complex is so well cared for. Our condo was on the first level (which did mean the land crabs would occasionally wake us up by scratching on the sliding door!). It was clean and spacious. Hans, the caretaker greeted us when we arrived, and was always around caring for the complex, and making us laugh and feel welcome. This complex has it all: nice living space, close to beach and activities, and a pool. Hans is a also an asset: when there is a blackout (which happens often - bring flashlights!), if the internet goes out, if you have questions about anything - Hans is there!
The condo comes with a lovely kitchen, which is spare, but really has everything you need (knives could use a good sharpening!), including a fridge with water/ice dispenser. Pelada beach is a 2 minute walk, and is really lovely. At low tide you can explore the tide pools, and play in the waves. Terrific restaurants are close by, also a liquor store and mini market (which takes a credit card!). We did end up renting a golf cart, so we could get around easier to Guillones and Guillones beach - a 15 minute walk or drive from the condo, and has great surfing (my land-locked Colorado son learned to surf in a day - thanks Juan Surfos), wonderful restaurants, and cold coconut water when you leave the beach.
My 10 year old daughter loved the pool, which is beautiful, clean and refreshing.
The condo comes with salt, dish soap/sponge, but no real cleaning supplies. We hired a wonderful woman to clean, which was affordable, and totally worth it.
Aside from the obvious food, you will need to pick up at the store: paper towels, more toilet paper, laundry detergent, and any spices you may want. No bottled water needed. Essentials can be purchased at the tiny store or The Super Nosara (15 minute drive) has everything, including gluten free pasta and cereal! Both my husband and I had to work some while there, and the internet is not really fast in all of Costa Rica, but we managed just fine. We all came home relaxed and happy -Pura Vida, and would gladly return.
