My stay at Mamma Rosa was pretty varied, some parts were great and some parts not so good. When I first got there, they checked me into a very dirty room right by the restaurant which was extremely loud and not private with music and people talking right outside. Also the power went out that night, which meant no a/c or wifi or light. I honestly thought about leaving and going to another hotel. The next morning I requested to upgrade to an apartment in the back area and after that, my room was grea and I was very happy with it! Their daily breakfasts are delicious and their Italian food at night was good, but expensive. There is a bit of a language barrier as some of the staff doesn't speak any English so it made certain things like communicating about rides and asking questions about the bill upon check out extremely difficult. At a couple different points, the owner became frustrated and yelled at me in Spanish which was extremely unpleasant, though he was nice and accommodating at other points in my stay. Having worked in hospitality myself, I could never ever imagine yelling at a client/Patron so customer service could definitely be improved. The plus side to this property is definitely its location. 2 minutes walking to the beach, which is why I booked it. The area is also nice and quiet, though a bit secluded from other restaurants and bars so you need some type of transportation.
