This large beautiful 2br with dining area is simply fantastic. The apartment features hard wood floors and a fully equipped kitchen. The living room has a wall of windows as well as a large flat screen with cable TV. It also had a a large dining room table. The master bedroom has a queen sized bed, dresser and desk. The second bedroom has a queen sized bed and dresser.. There is roof access that has AMAZING views of lower Manhattan. As for the building... it is a newish (2007) elevator building located on a quiet street and is close to everything! (you can hang out in the lower east side (0-5 min walk)... you can shop in SOHO. (5-8 min walk).. you can have dinner in Little Italy (5 min walk)... you can have brunch in the east village (5-10 min walk)... you can have authentic Chinese food in Chinatown (5 min walk)...plus there are several subways within a 3-5 min walk so it's easy to get around the city (F/M/B/D/J/Z/6 lines)... We initially rented this apartment with couple friends for Oct 2018. We live in Panama City, Fl and were hit by a CAT4 hurricane. I didn’t purchase the travel insurance so the owner initially told me “so sorry.” After emailing, he allowed our group to reschedule for Jan 2019 which we really appreciated. Due to scheduling it was only myself and my husband. First off, the location is AMAZING. It’s close to many subway stops, markets, and SBux. Within 2-3 blocks are great restaurants. We ate at Bensons (burgers) and Russ and Daughters (Jewish comfort food- delish!). The apartment is adjacent to Delancey and can be very noisy. We did receive a nice welcome bottle of wine and there was coffee for the coffee maker. The EZ Mini Mart has all you need for a couple of days and the guys who work there are awesome and make great sandwiches. It’s a half block from the apartment. As for the apartment.... Pros - the bed in the “master” is memory foam and very comfortable; a large screen TV with access to cable and streaming; the neighbors were very nice. Cons -We had no closet space as they were all locked. We found this strange and read the welcome letter which suggests this is someone’s home. The welcome letter also told us to say we were staying with a friend if a NYC housing employee stopped to ask. This seemed a little shady. The bathroom faucet would not produce hot water. I texted the owner and he never replied. I finally figured out the faucet was in reverse and you have to turn to cold for hot water (silly me...😊). I kept stepping on what I assume were cat claws. I don’t think we would book here again and I’d likely look for something closer tor Central Park.
