Vacation home in Mount Vernon with kitchen and patio
This is a very large one bedroom house, 1,200 sq ft. The house is well-stocked throughout with essentials. Walking distance (less than one mile) or a short ride to the farmer’s market and several restaurants, breweries and shops in downtown Mount Vernon as well as the Amtrak Cascade line. Very close to I-5, the Skagit Tulip Festival, the ferry terminal to the San Juan Islands (40 min), hiking on Little Mountain (10 min), and the quaint town of Bow (20 min), which leads to several beautiful hikes along the scenic Chuckanut Drive. Close to Western Washington University and downtown Bellingham! (25 min). The kitchen is stocked with essential pantry items and more, including coffee and tea. Either eat at the bar, in the open dining area or on the wrap around, covered deck overlooking Skagit Valley. When in season, we try to have something freshly harvested from our greenhouse on the property, which we kindly ask you to respect the privacy of during your stay. The living room has several floor-to-ceiling windows for allowing plenty of light in, but blackout curtains for when you wish for privacy. There are two doors from the living room that lead to the wrap around deck which is private and overlooks a beautiful yard. You can cozy up in the living room, turn on the fireplace and watch a show on the smart TV or play one of the several games we have available. The living room has a comfy sofa couch and a massage, heated recliner. The bedroom features a comfortable king size bed with great pillows and organic sheets. There is a door off the bedroom leading to the outdoor deck. The bathroom with a walk-in shower is accessible through the bedroom and is stocked with many essentials, including salon shampoo and conditioner, soap, a flat iron, and a blow dryer. There is a washer and dryer with laundry soap provided. We only use natural cleaning products in the home and do not use any fragrances that are chemically synthesized. We can provide a non-toxic Guava Lotus travel crib for sleeping and a baby tub for the shower both upon request. Parking - The back of the house is a two car, attached garage. In front of the garage is a concrete area for parking your car.

    Mount Vernon fall stay

Property owner is awesome and easy to contact. House is clean and very nicely remodeled. Kitchen is fully stocked with everything you would need and appliances are all new. The flooring is beautiful and the fireplace was great for the fall morning chill. The location is easy to find and neighborhood looks safe. My wife and I are very light sleepers so the train horn from a few blocks away made sleeping a challenge for us. Love the porch as well. Keeps you dry when getting back after a long day of adventure. You will not find a better property owner.

      Wonderful home!

This home is clean and definitely well-built. It felt like a haven during the rain. I enjoyed sitting on the covered porch and watching the sunset. We also loved the walk-in shower. Would definitely stay here again!

        A Great Place

This is a lovely, well designed and decorated home. Though small, it is very roomy, light and airy; and everything is clean and in good shape. All the necessities were provided -- and more, with tempting snacks on the counter. The wrap around deck is surrounded by a lovely garden and there is a feeling of privacy when sitting there. The owner is responsive, pleasant and so very accommodating. We had a wonderful stay.

          Cute,Cozy, Comfortable

We stayed at this cute little house for four nights. The house is just right for two people. It is very clean, the bed is very comfortable and so is the living area. We enjoyed the gas fireplace in the evenings, a welcome amenity during our rainy stay. The neighborhood felt safe and the location was very convenient to the things we planned to do as well as restaurants, grocery stores etc. We rented a car and found the area easy to drive in. Amanda, the hostess, was great to do business with. She responded quickly, within minutes, to our questions via the Home Away site and text messages. She even called a couple times because she felt it would help her to give a more thorough answer than via text or e'mail. She was super about suggesting things to do, where to eat etc. If we are in the area again we definitely would stay at this cute, cozy and comfortable little house. We recommend it without reservation.
