The house needs a lot of love and a deep cleaning. The lawn should be mowed more often and I don't think the air conditioning was turned on until the morning of our stay, it never cooled the building. It was very musty in the basement and the upstairs bathroom needs work.
Pros: Nice owner and replied promptly regarding a shower issue. The home was very spacious to accommodate my family and I. The vanities and flooring in the upstair and downstair bathrooms are very nice. The kitchen was decent with nice flooring. Cons: The place itself was not my overall standards. The pics online did no justice for the physical appearance. It did not appear the home was cleaned priority to me and my family arriving. The tub/shower were filled with scum and rust. The toilets were unclean. We were experiencing problems with the shower in the bathroom upstairs; sometimes it worked and sometimes it did not.The house had a damp smell to it that greeted you at the door. The sectional in the living room has multiple large stains. The carpet was filthy in the living room (dirty). The smoke detector was hanging from the ceiling in the hallway and a size of a door knob hole was located in the last bedroom over the bed. The curb appeal was unacceptable. The grass was not cut and weeds were high in the back near the back door entrance. It would have been extremely hard to relocate to a different location with the amount of guess I was traveling with due to the activities we had planned during our visit with family that reside in St Paul, MN. As a family, we made it work. Prior to departing, we ensured we vacuumed, took trash out, placed linens on beds, placed used towels in the washer (did not start the washer) and removed all of our personal belongings.
Great host in a great neighborhood-- walks all through Saint Paul were easy. Plenty of parking, but hardly needed a car. Rachael's art adds interest and respect for the space, and was really fascinating. The beds are great, linens soft, and home well-heated and well-lit. It's a terrific place to stay, and I hope to go back soon.
Rachael was an amazing host, and extremely accommodating. The home was HUGE and super clean and bright. We had a great time and had our expectations were far exceeding. Clean and comfortable beds, large kitchen, cute decor and homey touches, extra kitchen and bathroom were a huge bonus, as was off street parking. Close to some great shops with a quaint community garden across the street. Thank you!!
