    Forever in love

We will most definitely be coming back to this charming cottage on a beautiful lake. We experienced the most beautiful sunsets and very hospitable neighbors. The cabin has everything you would need in terms of towels, washcloths, hand soap, dish soap, kitchen utensils and plate wear, etc. The cottage itself was much bigger than we anticipated with was a pleasant surprise. This was our first trip to the UP and we plan to be coming back sooner rather than later.

    4/5 Good

Everything was good. Only issue was the internet. Should have good internet. Tried to book tickets for things in the area and had to nbn go to town to do everything. Also should have a phone or something for emergencies. This is simply from a previous rental we had that was similar to what you own. Other than those couple things, the place was perfect.

    5/5 Excellent

Clean cabin, great hosts, central location

Cabin: upon arrival when we entered the cabin our first impression was how clean the place was, this was a huge relief due to you never know what you are walking into. Kodos to your cleaning crew! We left tips for them when we left! The cabin is stocked with everything you need, you will not lack for anything. (suggestion... bring lots of bottled water for coffee and drinking- it is a cabin after all) John and Lorrie have a suggestion book and as we breezed through it we could already see some suggestions were taken to heart and corrected or added. Lakefront: John and Lorrie were there to greet us when we arrived which was a very pleasant surprise. The grounds and lake front were impeccable. The deck on the front of the cabin is wonderful - what a great addition to an already great place. The sunsets were magnificent every night at the fire pit provided right on the water. The lake front is hard and sandy and very shallow - perfect for wading and swimming. (NO muck) Neighbors are very friendly and knowledgeable. Location: Everything was a hop-skip-and a jump away from the cabin. The directions were spot on and we had no troubles going to Pictured Rocks, Grand Marais, Sault Ste. Marie, or even down to Big Bay De Noc... And we spent several evenings in Curtis eating ice cream, great little shops downtown and the pizza was great too! Thank you John and Lorrie - we had the best time staying at your place! You really were great hosts!

    Comfortable / Centrally Located

First time in UP Location was great for day trips to all the sights/venues we hoped to stay. Quit, comfortable, welcoming house with access to lake. Would go again Thanks

Charming and Cozy Cottage on a clean, clear, sand bottom lake with a nice beach. All you could need!

Our family loved our relaxing stay on Big Manistique Lake. It was a lovely reminder for us of a family owned cottage in our recent past. John and Lorrie could not have done more to make us comfortable and we quickly were able to feel at home. There are many area attractions within an easy drive... we enjoyed Seney Wildlife Refuge, a trolley & riverboat trip, Painted Rocks Boat Tour, kayaking the Tahquamanon River and a couple of trips to the beaches of Lake Superior. There is much more to see so we won't think twice about returning when another opportunity presents itself.. Great new memories for us to share. Next time we will rent a boat in the town of Curtis so we can spend some time on the lake by the cottage.
