McAllen, Texas, is a city in the southwestern region of the United States. One of its chief attractions is the State Farm Arena, which was newly renovated in 2010, and is locally famous as the home of the local RGV Vipers basketball team as well as the Killer Bees ice hockey team. McAllen is also home to a wealth of opportunities for outdoor recreation, such as camping, fishing, hiking and boating.
McAllen can be easily reached by travelers who fly into the McAllen Miller International Airport (MFE) and take a rental car or bus into town. The city's most famous neighborhood is the downtown area centered around 17th Street.
