I'm so glad I chose this hotel! It's a 20 minute walk to the national park, and there are numerous hiking trails all within walking distance, including the Appalachian Trail. The room was attractive and clean, with a nice-sized fridge that kept my food good and cold, and adjustable heat and a/c. We appeared to be the only people in the entire hotel, yet by some stroke of bad luck, we were given a room with no hot water. When I complained, the gal working the front desk jumped into action, at first suggesting a room switch. She probably gathered from the look on my face that this would not be my first choice, since my son and I had just gotten settled in. So, she instead offered to let us use the shower in another room, and that worked out fine. My only real complaint--since the hot water problem was addressed to my satisfaction--was that, like so many hotels nowadays, they only offered squishy, soft pillows. I cannot sleep on soft feather or imitation feather pillows; I need a firmer foam pillow for neck support. Since they give you a lot of pillows anyway, I suggest/request they offer both types of pillow and allow the guest to choose what works for them. Other than that, a great stay, and I would stay here again, especially if I'm bringing my own pillow.
