First off, check-in took a little longer than you'd think it should since there were 4 people behind the front desk and only 2 people trying to check-in. At first they couldn't find my reservation without having to show them my online booking confirmation. After standing at the front desk for what seemed like an eternity (about 10 minutes) in an awkward silence while the front desk person typed ferverishly on the computer to get me checked in, he states I was upgraded from the deluxe room king bed to the executive suite king bed at no extra charge. I though cool. He confirmed that I wanted a no-smoking room. Get to the room. Kinda excited and that is quickly squashed. The key doesn't work. Back down to the front desk. Finally getting into the room. IT SMELLS, like you guessed it...smoke. Right there sitting in the bedroom on the table is an ashtray. But..how can that be, this is a non-smoking room? Whatever. The smell could also be coming from the carpet, that is just gross. It's old and stained. The bathroom has mildew everywhere. The walls have stains all around the light switches. The windows are almost impossible to see out of as they haven't been cleaned in what one can assume since the building was built. I'm 6'1" the bathroom ceiling is probably 6'5" at best, good luck if you're taller than that. Stains on the pillow sheets. However the bed was comfortable and the room was HUGE. Location, sketchy if you want to walk anywhere, otherwise use a GRAB.
