Hotel Oeiras Lisbon
The hotel Holiday inn express Oeiras Lisbon is perfectly fine to stay in although for a one night stay, it's a bit in the middle of nowhere. However those staying for more than 1 night and with a sense of adventure, there's frequent buses from Porto Salvo(8 minutes walk, to the right of the hotel) cost 2.40 Euro to Paco do Arcos, which takes about 10 minutes. From here you take the 3 an hour train to nearby Lisbon or the beach resort of Cascais for 1.95 single, it's clean and simple to use and rail staff are very friendly and speak reasonable english. The hotel it's self is clean, staff are friendly . Breakfast is good, usual European type buffet with something to suit most people. Bar prices are very resonable, for example 2 Euro a bottle of beer, 5 Euro a baileys( generous serving!) Local amenities? As you turn right and up a hill there's a cafe/ bar open to 8pm which serve bottles of beer 1 Euro 10, bargain. As you see the bar, take a diagonal right, which brings you to a little bar/ cafe called 220( I think) which serves very simple and cheap meals, for example, steak and chips 8 Euro, chicken and chips, grilled fish both 8 euros and ridiculously cheap wine. So I wouldn't recommend this hotel for 1 night, but for a longer stay,I certainly would.
