My wife, son and I stayed at the Cottonwood Cottage while attending the UW Showcase weekend, 1-3 Feb 19. The cottage is located very close to campus...in fact, only a short walk from the UW Union, Business School and Dining Hall where we spent most of our time on campus. The property is clean and well kept, very comfortable and nicely furnished. The two bedrooms have queen-sized beds and both beds are very comfortable. The bathroom is located between the two bedrooms and has a new-ish washer and dryer which came in handy during our stay. The kitchen is well equipped with everything needed to prepare family meals...the owners even provided eggs, butter, half & half, coffee, scones and bananas which we put to good use the morning after our late evening arrival. In the living room, there is a large flat screen TV with cable which we primarily used to listen to music while relaxing between events at the campus. We didn't cook dinner at the cottage but would recommend the J's Prairie Rose Cafe near downtown and the Corona Village Mexican Restaurant off 3rd St near the interstate. Also, if you bring your dog to Laramie, like we did, we recommend using the Animal Health Center on Grand Avenue and Bobolink Drive for boarding during your stay. Overall, we had an excellent stay at Cottonwood Cottage and expect to become frequent guests should our son decide to attend UW.
