"We stayed at 2 places on our family trip to Costa Rica. This was the second (first was on the Caribbean side). This location is remote, and off the main road so you will need a 4X4. But that is exactly what we wanted and that is exactly what we got! Unbelievable view. Great deck, plenty of room for a family of 5. It was not on solar when we were there which to me was a plus as we did not have to worry about running the dishwasher, etc. The washer was not working, which was a disappointment. But things break so you just deal. Dave was responsive and tried hard to get it going, which we appreciated. If I had to find something we did not like, it is very minor. Several of the light switches were broken or not operational. But, we managed just fine and it was not a big enough deal for me to call Dave. Some of the screening had holes and some screen doors show their age. But again, it was manageable and was not a deterrent in any way. Just an observation. Dave was great and responsive on any inquiries He set us up with a sweet captain to go fishing and, unfortunately, when we had some stomach issues, he recommended a great pharmacy. Overall this was a really nice and enjoyable experience. You will love the view and all the peace and quiet that comes with this beautiful home. Would stay there again for sure!"

"but do be prepared for a wonderful, fascinating experience. This is an older/rustic retreat. If you're looking for an air-conditioned fancy facility, this isn't for you. But trust me, the sometimes harrowing drive to the tip of the peninsula will lead you to a memorable stay. Paradise with an ocean view. The place is called the Howler Monkey Hotel because, guess what, the monkeys will wake you early. The ocean was very warm to swim in at high tide, and the pool cool and refreshing. James, the owner, is great, very kind and knowledgeable about the area."

"The ocean view from this property was exceptional. The house was roomy yet charming and full of the character. Getting there is not easy. The directions were not precise, we were given the coordinates but as our phone couldn't connect to the internet this information wasn't useful. The road in is extremely rough, requiring a 4x4 and very experienced and confidant driver. The pool is wonderful and also gives an ocean view but there aren't any loungers provided."

"This is a beautiful property with amazing architecture where modern design meets rustic allure. The house is a glass house with expansive views of the property. The infinity pool is huge and we enjoyed morning and evening swims every day. The outdoor spaces are comfortable, beautiful and designed for easy living as well as monkey viewing. The unadvertised bonus is a huge screen and projector in the bedroom where we could watch movies at night. And the bed was the best we've slept in!! We were leary of renting this place because it looked too good to be true and there were no reviews at the time when we booked. But we are seriously happy that we got to experience this lovely floating house. We enjoyed every minute of our stay there and will rent it again if we ever return to the area. Lynn was a gracious and responsive house manager. The neighbors who care for the house did a great job. We felt very safe there and we also enjoyed the daily visits from their two friendly well-behaved dogs."
