- Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Not bad overall and fair enough for the price. Staff was friendly. The room was clean. Overall dated and a bit worn. Bed was not very comfortable - maybe just an old mattress. A good morning coffee can really change my outlook on a stay. Complimentary coffee used to be a given in most hotels (and it seems like the cost of setting out a pot of coffee for early birds would be more than offset in the goodwill generated with guests.) More and more, hotels add „baristas“ to the picture, and charge way too much for a bitter (usually Starbucks) brew. That was the case at this Hilton - and the baristas weren’t especially welcoming to boot. In-room coffee maker brewed an undrinkable cup, even after I spent the $3.95 posted on the bottles of water perched next to the coffee maker to brew it (love getting free bottled waters offered by many other hotel brands) CNN piped in on all public screens in the lobby - i didn’t see a remote to change the station and select more neutral news sources which I prefer. Overall a missed opportunity by Hilton to gain my loyalty for this property, despite friendly and helpful front desk staff and a reasonable price. There are other, more appealing options downtown.
