The Östersjöfestival, also known as the "Karlshamn Baltic Festival", takes place every year in the 29th week. This folk festival lasts four days and attracts many with its cultural offerings. Just east of the harbor is the Sternö peninsula, a nature reserve with good bathing opportunities, and there are boats from the harbor to several islands in the archipelago. One of these is the small island of Tjärö, a beautiful nature reserve. Nature lovers should also experience Scandinavia's largest safari park and one of Northern Europe's largest nature reserves, Eriksberg.
