    Hawaiian getaway in the Koolaus

Stayed at this VRBO for 4 nights recently. The property is located right up under the Koolau mountains in Ahuimanu near Kaneohe. It is hard to find, the Alan the property manager sent me a map with detailed instructions - still I recommend arriving during daylight hours since at night it can be pretty tricky to see, and GPS does not work too well so close to the mountains. The unit consists of a big room with a kitchenette, dining area, and a pool table, and a queen bed in one corner. The bathroom is just outside the front door. The unit was well appointed (no AC - but you don't really need it), spotless, and has beautiful views of Kaneohe Bay and Chinamen's Hat in the distance, and views of the Koolaus and water falls in the back. The property is large and has many interesting plants to see. It is very private and a beautiful getaway in Kaneohe. Highly recommend this place.

    Home away from home

A modern day glamping experience. It felt like paradise to us. Unpon entrance, towards your right you see the beauty of the mountains, and to the left you have glimpse of the ocean waves. It’s the perfect romantic gettaway from the city. If you’re looking for peace, tranquility, and nature, then this is the perfect place for you. The location couldn’t be better. You’d be about 25 minutes away from Kailua and Lanikai beach, 25 to 30 minutes away from Honolulu and Waikiki. If you’re into surf, then North Shore is about 45 - 50 minutes away, but the view getting there is spot on. (Drive with the top down) Thank you Alan and Violet for the clean accommodation, hospitality, friendship, and sharing your paradise with us. I hope to make this trip an annual one. Amazing, Cosy and Tropical Paradise

Upon arrival, we knew we'd booked the right place to stay for our week in Hawaii. Not only was the location perfect (literally felt like we were a 20 minute drive from everything we wanted to do sight-seeing wise on the island) it was so amazing, we actually just stayed in a few days listening to the rain and catching up on some reading. Surrounded by beautiful trees, chirping birds (you wake up to the sounds that's you'd pay for at home with a meditative noise machine). Property was immaculately clean, kitchen was more than enough, Netflix and large TV was great for rainy days and before bedtime. Pool table was such a bonus. Alan and Violet were so lovely - allowed so much privacy, but had great conversation and hospitality when we did cross paths. Thank you guys!! Do yourself a favour and stay here and not the overcrowded busy, nearby Kailua, it's a short drive away when you want to go to the beach, and here you get the tropical escape as well.

Loved it!! Welcomed by three waterfalls out of the back wall of windows ~

Wonderful stay. Going outside to access the bathroom is a little quirky, but added to the adventure. Quiet, gorgeous, private, stunning. Good central location to everywhere, Makapu'u to Haleiwa to Honolulu ~

    5/5 Excellent

An excellent value for a restorative vacation in Hawaii. The pictures don't do the property justice. This is a secluded location that is both beautiful and peaceful. The property is surrounded by lush vegetation that can only be found in a tropical setting. Tucked in the mountains above Kaneohe Bay, you can see Mokoli'i to the North. And if you are lucky to have it rain while you sleep during the night, you will wake to not one but two picturesque waterfalls in the mountains to the South. Furnishings are in excellent shape. Hosts are very accommodating, personable and professional.
