We had a great stay for the Labor Day weekend. House was very clean and comfortable. Perfect for what we needed.

Stay in the charming fishing village of Sneads Ferry in this beachy home only seven miles away from the beautiful beaches on Topsail Island. When not visiting the beach, you can fill your stomachs with some of the local, fresh seafood at one of the many nearby restaurants. We are less than a mile out the back gate of Camp Lejeune, the largest amphibious military base in the country, to be able to visit with your favorite marine. A free nearby boat launch is only a few minutes away and available to those that want to do some boating and some fishing. This home offers all the amenities of home, so you can relax and enjoy your stay. There's a large family room that opens to the sunroom to give you lots of room to watch TV together and play games.

This was a great place to stay for our little weekend beach getaway. Unfortunately, it rained buckets almost the entire time! Even still, it was a nice space to gather with friends. The beds were comfortable, it was very clean (except for some cleaning rags forgotten in the sink), and the kitchen was equipped with almost everything we needed for a rained in weekend where we cooked a lot. The grill was excellent. When it finally stopped raining when we had to check out at 10AM, we were very close to North Topsail beach, so we were able to squeeze in some time, My minor complaints are as follows. There was only one half-used roll of toilet paper made available to us. There was also no hand soap. These basics should be included. We wound up purchasing our own and donating the soap to this listing. There are TVs in every bedroom and the living room, but no Netflix or any other streaming hooked up. If it had been a sunny weekend, we wouldn't have missed it, but being rained it, we really wished the TVs had been smart TVs so we could have at least hooked up our own accounts. Construction is going on right along the road in front of the house. There were orange barrels everywhere and it was a little unclear where the driveway was because of the barrels. We were able to figure it out, but had to let the other couple staying with us know as they came later Friday night and there is no way they would have figured it out in the dark. Small thing, but a heads up would have made sense. None of these complaints would have been a big deal, however, after requiring a $500 security deposit and (after booking) providing a document with very restrictive house rules, the lack of basics felt very stingy. The security deposit and strict rules also started our weekend off with a sense of mistrust rather than relaxation. Overall, this place was great, but the transaction was not ideal. If there had been more options available on Airbnb at such a short notice, we would have used that service. After this experience, we will not be using vrbo again unless there are no other alternatives.
