Great location and great coffee
We loved staying in the hills above Kona. The sunsets were Incredible. Love the geckos too! The coffee farm was amazing and so was the coffee. The pool was a great way to cool off on a hot day without having to trek down to the beaches. The location is in the hills above Kona proper and most services/beaches and attractions are some distance away (15 mins or more drive). The accommodations were good but not for someone looking for luxurious. Place was clean and in good repair but the outfitting of the place was a little low budget (pots and pans and dishes were old but usable, some of the silverware and plates needed cleaning before using, hot tub wasn’t working and the cover was on the ground). Be aware that the tours gather right outside the house next door and around the pool so visitors will be milling about during tour hours (but there are signs posted to ensure privacy of the occupants and everyone respected that). Bring your own toiletries—some were provided but seemed to be mostly what other people left behind —hit or miss. Same with cooking basics: we found salt and pepper but other items were random and some quite old which we threw away. Just take stock before you do your grocery run. None of this bothered us though (no hot tub needed in August!) and we had a great stay. I recommend this for anyone looking for something different—educational, relaxing and away from the resort lifestyle/cattlecall environment! Thanks for a great stay!! We loved it!!
