    5/5 Excellent

Better than the pictures! We really enjoyed our stay. Close enough to Helen.

We would stay here again. We have already shared this listing with friends. Just FYI the tub is super slippery to get out of and it looks like ants are moving into the wall above the tub.

    Great Getaway

It was just what we were looking for to just get away to the mountains for a little while. It was quiet & relaxing. The hot tub was great. It’s also within 10-15 minutes from Helen, so far enough out for quiet but close enough to be convenient. I loved that all we needed to do to check in was use the code that they sent via email. We had no problems while we were there. I would recommend it & I would stay there again.

Beautiful but need to pave a walk-way or additional gravel from driveway to cabin

The cabin itself was very nice. It was clean and had comfortable furniture in the living area. The back porch was nice as well. It was relaxing being able to sit in the hot tub and have a fire going. There were a few downfalls with the cabin as well. First and foremost, the driveway is gravel however; it is only gravel for the size of your car. Stepping in and out of your car is all mud! There is a walkway to the cabin but unfortunately you have several feet of mud to walk through before you get to the stepping stones. This was extremely disappointing being I had 3 children to get in and out of the car each time we went out to do something. It was so bad, we had to roll up our pants and wear flip flops to and from the cabin to the car each time we had to leave and purchase garbage bags to lay down on the floor of our car to keep from getting mud all through the vehicle. Unloading to stay and loading to leave early morning hrs was very tough due to this as well. The other downfall to the cabin is the beds are all hard with cheap pillows. As nice as the cabin is, the beds made it a negative experience for my family. While on vacations, we like to sleep-in and watch tv from bed and all of us were complaining of discomfort. The pillows were cheap and small as well. I was also very disappointed in the water pressure. The shower barely had any :-(.

Cabin is nice, but advertisement is misleading...NOT Lakefront!

This cabin has nice finishes and expensive lighting fixtures throughout. Booked my stay based on the pictures and description "Lakefront". But let me start by saying this is not a Lake view property. You will not see the Lake ever unless thousands of trees are cleared and what you can see now in Winter resembles a retention pond, not a Lake... and no way you'd ever see it in Spring, Summer or Fall. This was my first time booking with VRBO and there were fee's added outside the "average night stay" For instance, there is an administrative fee in addition to fees incurred for housekeeping and a fee to clean the hot tub. We don't use hot-tubs but I liked the description and pics so much I decided to book anyway. Way too pricey for a desolate non-mountain cabin without a water view. Lastly, my advice is to put lighting on spiral staircase. This cabin is very dark and my husband ran right into the staircase and cut his chin open. The beds need foam toppers. They are extremely hard and uncomfortable. Again, nice cabin but if you're truly looking for a cabin in the Mountains, this cabin would not be for you. There is an industrial building directly on the other side of the fence to the left and a resident on the right. This cabin would be amazing on a mountain but it's really just out in the middle of nowhere...not typical cabin experience. Also, although the cabin sleeps many, there's only one bathroom and it's quite small plus the mirror and vanity must be for shorter people. I'm 5'10" and forced to squat so I could see to put on makeup and blow out my hair. No soap dish or anywhere to put your body wash, razor, etc while showering so that was a bit inconvenient too. The cabin itself is very nice but you're just outside downtown Cleveland with no trails to walk or activities you'd find at a mountain resort. The cabin is just sitting there between a business and a private residence so there's not much to do besides hot-tub and channel surf on the sofa. I could have also gone all weekend without all the taxidermy. I get they want to provide a rustic flair, but there are simply too many dead animals and their skins showcased throughout. My advice to anyone searching is to make sure to google map a potential booking so you can see what's directly around it. Had I done that in advance, I would not have booked this cabin for sure. Again, cabin is nice but the location really stinks.

If looking for a nice place to stay away from the hustle and bustle of town this is the one

Wife and I spent a week here just relaxing and loafing. Cabin was clean and well stocked. We enjoyed our stay.
