We were pretty nervous about this rental given the lack of reviews. The property was beautiful - the best feature was the sweeping, quite private, views of the ocean. The home itself is incredibly tastefully decorated and has very high end finishings. The main house has 3 bedrooms, 2 with attached baths, plus a 3rd full bath and an office that has a murphy bed. 1 of the bedrooms, plus the murphy bed-room, faced the ocean. All the bedrooms have TVs and are very comfortable, though not huge. In the main house there's also a 4th loft space that has been converted to a big lower ceiling bedroom an attached bath. On the same property, but not in the main house, there are two additional bedroom spaces - one over the garage and one guest house, which each also had their own bathrooms. Across the 7 "bedrooms" you could sleep 16. There is air conditioning, which is somewhat rare in Hawaii. The house is in a great north shore location between Haleiwa and Turtle bay, although it is right on the main road. There can be a little car noise, but when you open the sliding glass doors all you hear is ocean. The kitchen was fully stocked. There was a grill and table outside, and the lawn area is quite private. You are steps from the ocean, literally. The tide was high and the waves were a bit rough when we were there (Nov) so the beach/ocean wasn't a great place for little kids to play, but it was still lovely to go for walks on, watch surfers, build sand castles, and the adults boogie boarded just fine (boards & sand toys were there at the house.) No place to go on long walks or runs directly from the house, unless you run on the beach, but within a couple miles there was a bike path that went for miles. There was a well stocked grocery store just a few min drive down the road. There were plenty of linens and towels, but no shampoo or soap provided. Not a big deal but would have been nice to know. The laundry was in the garage, very convenient to have on site. You had to walk outside the garage to go inside from the car - it was a REALLY busy road and with a couple little kids in tow you definitely had to keep an eye on them getting in and out of the car. The house seemed a little expensive compared to some of the other properties we saw on line, but all in our party agreed it was one of the most beautiful views we've ever stayed in, and across our group we have stayed in many high end homes in the US and internationally. thumbs up!
