IN-season prices for OFF-season experience
Online, Sound View looked amazing, in person nice. Service was generally awful. The front desk upon checking in was not hospitable. Arrived early before check-in to ask about where to eat lunch. Told our rooms would be ready in about an hour. The 2 women at the desk could not provide anything inspiring as far as suggestions for local lunch recommendations. Following lunch we arrived back at 3:50, 10 minutes before check-in but well over the hour we were told our rooms would be ready, and they still weren't ready. Went to the lounge for some lattes to wait. At 4:15 went to the front desk and my room was ready, but my friends' wasn't. Asked if they would comp our lattes as an offering for having to wait. She turned to a manager and said "they want their coffee comped" in front of us, instead of "hey, let's take care of these people" The rooms were nice. Our bathroom had a significant leak so that the floor was puddled with water. Told the front desk and nothing was done about it our entire stay. All the windows on the water side of the property were filthy detracting from the view. Dinner at The Haylard was not in the restaurant bc of an event but in the "library". Our server couldn't answer questions about the cocktail menu and another server couldn't tell us about the 3 cheeses on our cheese board. After dinner, the bartender with 0 energy+personality ignored 3 of the 4 of us sitting at his bar...made 1 drink then walked away from us. Wanted to love the place.
