    About this property

Cabela's 12x20 Alakanak Outfitter Tent Makes a Great Basecamp for UP Adventures

Stay in an outfitter quality tent with cots overlooking the Manistique River. The tent is 12x20 in size, and comes with six cots, which still leaves plenty of room for your gear. You can sleep up to 12 people in this tent on the floor. This is a great and inexpensive lodging option before embarking on or after completing that epic backpacking or kayak/canoe trip. Hot shower and flush toilet accessible inside the lodge. We provide a covered camp kitchen with grill and fire pit.

    Nice weekend in the UP

My 2 friends and I spent out first camping trip in the UP at this Vrbo. Location was good but got lost finding it since our GPS kept taking us 10 miles down the road from the location and then lost cell service. We were able to get service to call the host and was able to get directions. Tent was big and clean with cots. Our only complaint was that the property listing needs to be more clear and specific. We were informed after we booked that the site is shared with another tent about 10 ft from ours that can be booked at the same time. The fire pit, kitchen, and bathroom is also shared. Luckily, the other group didn’t show up so we had our privacy. Bathroom plumbing works well but there is no electricity in the bathroom and is located on the second floor of the lodge. Lots of mosquitoes since site near river. Bring heavy blankets for sleeping because it gets very cold at night. For just the weekend this was a good place to stay.

    Cheap and comfortable

I used this location as a jump off point to Pictured Rocks. Very convenient.
