We have stayed in many hotels in the Gatlinburg area over the past 25 years. Usually, we stay at our resort but use hotels when we just stay a few nights. We stayed at the Days Inn on the Parkway our last visit. It was the worst hotel we have ever been in. We travel extensively and have never had such a poor experience. Right off the bat, the check-in clerk was extremely rude. The door to our room looked like someone had kicked it in at one point (it made us concerned about security), the toilet barely flushed, a shelf in the bathtub had been ripped out, blow dryer was missing, had an iron but no ironing board and the carpet was heavily stained. We asked at the desk for the tables on the terrace to be cleaned because would be using one later that day but they weren't. When I went by the front desk, I mentioned it again to the same rude clerk and she huffed and puffed about doing it. I also witnessed her being rude to a family with children. She was trying to hurry them into the elevator because the children were irritating her. She actually dramatically covered her ears in front of them and said she didn't like kids. Later another clerk was on duty and I related how terrible that first clerk had been and asked to report it to the manager. I was shocked to learn that the rude woman WAS the manager! To be fair, the bed was comfortable, the breakfast was "adequate" and the parking area was stacked with pallets of materials for an upcoming renovation. Never stay!
