Great location/view, okay service, not very clean
This hotel is not perfect and has some issues that need fixing, but it is a good location, with some decent views of nearby mountains. It is a short drive to Mammoth Hot Springs and there is some good food and gift shops in town. I had originally booked a King bed with an in-room jetted tub. When we walked into our room we had two queen beds with a nice view of the mountains. Apparently the jetted tub rooms had be ripped out a while back and we got upgraded to a room with a view without anyone telling us. The website still shows jetted tub rooms and needs to be updated. The beds had some hair in them, and a couple of other spots in the room were not cleaned. The cleaning staff made our bed during the day, but I am confident the sheets were not changed while we were out. The breakfast was a little boring, tasted fine, and was filling. The staff were friendly. Our trip was in mid-October with some snow flurries outside so I was looking forward to sitting in some warm water. The swimming pool was ice cold with cold air in the pool area. The small hot tub was only a little warm, and not very deep at all. Would be good for kids. The sauna worked alright to warm up. I am not sure of the price and quality of other options this close to Yellowstone, but this hotel was alright for the $130 a night I paid (booking pretty far in advance).
