My daughter and I stayed two weeks at this property. The first thing we noticed was the cave-like feel to the place. It's in a basement so the ceiling is really, really low with very little natural light. Frankly, after a couple days, it was getting depressing staying there. The main bedroom is nice and roomy but what's with the French doors? No privacy at all! The second bedroom/living room had the same issue with the see-through French doors. The sofa in that room pulls out into a futon but it's very stiff and uncomfortable. I had to put another futon on top of it to sleep comfortably. The kitchen is very small with the counter top awkwardly too tall to actually cook. And no full size oven, just a toaster oven. Trying to cook was a challenge! And most annoying was the lack of a thermostat in the basement.. The temperature was controlled by the owner upstairs so we were either too hot or freezing cold. Who wants to contact the owner every time you want the temperature adjusted? Lastly, I got a parking ticket near the house. So upset about that! I'm not from New Jersey and unfamiliar with the strictness of the parking rules. It would have been nice if the owner had warned me when she saw that I was in danger of getting a ticket. A friendly heads up would have been greatly appreciated! And saved me $54 in an unnecessary parking ticket.
The pros: The place seems new and clean enough. Every room had a large TV. And amenities like toilet paper, detergent, fabric softener and dish soap was provided. Even though it had only one bathroom, having a door to separate the toilet from the sink/shower helped in sharing the space.
In conclusion, would I ever stay here again? No, there are better properties out there.
