You are located right at the start of the beautiful Berry Glen Trail which is a moderately trafficked, out and back trail that features beautiful wild flowers and is rated as moderate. This trail offers several activity options and is best used from April until October. It is 5.9 miles with 1299 foot climb. Across the street a short distance, you can access the shorter and sought-after Trillium Falls Trail. This trail, which is about 1/4 mile from the trailhead across from your home, is a 3.2-mile loop with a 300-foot climb during the hike, so it is great for those looking for a beautiful yet less difficult hike. There is a list of hiking trails in the home with description, length, and difficulty level. Feel free to bring your mountain bikes, too, and ride in any of four directions on the interconnecting Parks bicycle trail system. I highly recommend looking that up and printing out prior to arrival. At least 80 miles of trails, direct access to the forest and safe storage for your equipment. We live in a great area for kayaking, so bring your kayaks and paddle our lagoons and rivers. If you have the proper permits and it is the right time of year, you can also get some fishing in. Sorry (or "fortunately, depending on your perspective), no motorized means of transportation or any pets allowed on the Park trails. We do live in a very rural environment where we do have bugs and critters that may surface, some seasons more than others. While unsightly, spiders and bugs do serve as part of our ecosystem, and most are relatively harmless. Should you see any wildlife, please keep your distance, as they are not domesticated animals. For their safety and for yours, please do not feed or try to get too close to animals. Photograph them from a safe distance away. Although infrequent, we are subject to power outages due to weather and downed trees. Should the power go out, there is a generator that will kick on automatically powering part of the home.
