This custom-built and furnished cottage sleeps up to 4 in individual beds and is the perfect getaway for the fisherman or family looking to stay minutes from the St. George Island bridge at an affordable price! No T.V. or Wifi is available at this home currently. However I have found that cell service is available at this home, put that is with Verizon Wireless and depends on your carrier. Carefully positioned to enhance the lushly natural "Old Florida" setting while preserving views of beautiful Apalachicola across East Bay, and with an estuarine marsh to the side and rear, this lovely, secluded property features 500' frontage on the bay for frolicking and kayak launching and your own 200' dock for fishing (redfish, sea trout, mullet, flounder, crabs), birding (bald eagles, pelicans, herons, osprey) and porpoise watching as well as viewing spectacular sunrises and sunsets. Accommodations include 2 Queen beds located on the main living floor plus 2 Twin beds above in the ladder-accessible loft, and a full bath with double vanity, large tiled shower, and toilet. The galley kitchen area has an apartment size electric range, under counter refrigerator, microwave, and a French press coffee maker. The huge 17' x 27' screened porch with dining table and lounge areas overlooks the bay and is perfect for that late afternoon nap or dinner watching the Sun go down! Without Wi-Fi or television, this cottage is well suited for those looking for a peaceful and natural escape yet the finest restaurants and shops are located a mere 15 minutes away on both St. George Island and in Apalachicola, a charmingly well-preserved fishing port. A local laundromat is approximately 6 miles away, and St. George Island State Park, the Apalachicola National Forest, St. Vincent National Wildlife Refuge, and St. Joe State Park are all nearby for their spectacular beaches and nature preserves. Bring your fishing poles, boat or kayaks for the ultimate fisherman's paradise! Special Note. While rarely encountered, this private, naturally landscaped 8-acre property can also play host to wildlife such as bear, fox, raccoons, and other native species. The driveway is long and without lights so we recommend you arrive during daylight hours to fully appreciate this unique setting.
