Quiet and peaceful
The cottage was very clean and comfortable. The perfect quiet get-away. On day one, we sat on the marina deck where we were entertained by watching all of the "retired" couples work on their boats, amused by all of the boat renters attempting to dock, and enjoyed all of the little geckos running around all while consuming a bottle of wine bought from the marina. Late afternoon, we took a very short walk down the road to the free ferry that ferried us to the Island, so we could walk off the bottle of wine on the well-groomed paths. That evening we drove down the road a couple of miles to a fun little authentic German pub and consumed a few German beers on tap. On day two we took the two-hour guided boat tour, which was very affordable and saw dozens of gators and hundreds of birds. (Manatees were just out of season) We then topped off the weekend by laying at the pool under the umbrella while consuming another bottle of wine. This resort is in the middle of nowhere and a tiny piece of relaxation heaven. The staff are over the top and extremely friendly. The airport (Sanford) is about 40 minutes away and there is a Winn-Dixie close by. What more could you ask for? Oh yes, this place was less expensive than a hotel room! We definitely recommend staying here.
