The staff was excellent especially at the front desk. Great location.

Located near the beach, The Whitehall Hotel is in Chicago's Near North Side neighborhood, an area with good shopping. Water Tower Place and Michigan Avenue are worth checking out if shopping is on the agenda, while those wishing to experience the area's popular attractions can visit Navy Pier and Lincoln Park Zoo. John G. Shedd Aquarium and Skydeck Ledge are not to be missed. Our guests love the hotel's convenience to public transportation: Chicago Station (Red Line) is 6 minutes by foot and Clark-Division Station is 11 minutes.
Cute boutique hotel, although the rooms are not in good shape. I rented two rooms for our stay and one room has visible wallpaper repair seams all over the wall, broken blinds, and the phone in the bathroom was practically falling off the wall. In the other room, there was some water stains and loose tiles in the bathroom. Also, when we arrived around 6pm, we waited for around 20-30 minutes outside and the valet was off to get someones car, so we carried our luggage in, checked in, and took eveything up to our rooms. By the time we came back down, the valet guy informed us they were about to have my vehicle towed, which was somewhat annoying seeing that we stood outside for a total of over 30+ minutes without seeing him show up. Other than that, the hotel was cute and small, and is a great location. Luckily I booked way in advance to get good rates, but I would only stay here again with a discount. There are so many hotels in Downtown Chicago, I might just have to go somewhere else for my next stay.
