Our stay at the Outpost near Maggie Valley NC

The cabin was a bit tight for our group of 9 adults and 5 kids, especially the kitchen, dining, and living area. To advertise it sleeps 13 we expected more space. We could only seat 8 around the table and that was tight, no more than 2 in the kitchen at once. Grateful for the deck table and chairs but if the weather was bad, it would be difficult for 13 to eat. The 5th bedroom is not a bedroom but an open loft area which did not seem private. It could use a deep clean, but basically was acceptable. Beds were comfortable and plenty of towels and washcloths. The view was amazing and it felt private even though there were cabins nearby. We would stay again with a smaller group.

      5/5 Excellent

        Great cabin overall

Great cabin. Very spacious. Not too far away from town. Had an awesome stay this past Christmas. When going back to the area I wouldnt hesitate to book the same cabin again

        5/5 Excellent

          The VIEW is AMAZING!!

We had an AMAZING weekend with some friends and family at The Outpost. It is set up nicely for 3 families, 2 bedrooms (queen beds) on the first floor with a bathroom, 2 bedrooms (queen beds) on the Main level with a bathroom, and 1 king size bed with a futon and a bathroom in the loft. We had a BLAST. And the view from the wrap around porch on the main level is breathtaking. The cottage is a little dated and could use a little TLC, but totally worth the money for the space and the VIEW ('s incredible). It is located on the side of a mountain, so if you are visiting during the snow season, make SURE you have 4 wheel drive and someone VERY comfortable driving in snow/ice situations.

            Unexpected experience

I arrived at the property to find to no AC and it had multiple things broken throughout the home. It was not clean and I had to purchase bleach cleaner to clean tubs to bath my kids. Maitanence did arrive and reinstall shower door, take broken kitchen chair, repair 2nd story exterior rails and screen door. The house had rips in the couch and water stains in the ceiling in the basement. It also has active security cameras in driveway, each corner or home. This was a concern with safety. The rental mangememt company refunded all of our money due to the experience. We only stayed the first night.
