Cheap flights to Reno
Guests arriving via the Reno–Tahoe International Airport (RNO) have the chance to play a few hands of blackjack, challenge the roulette tables or play video poker at any of the local casinos. Animal lovers should stop at the Sierra Safari Zoo or the Animal Ark Animal Wildlife Sanctuary to explore the wildlife. Lake Tahoe attracts visitors all year, offering guests the chance to go camping, boating, fishing, hiking or horseback riding during the summer, or skiing in the winter.
Arrivals leave the airport daily via the many buses, limousines, shuttles and taxis that service the facility. Car rental companies however are also available; get a rental vehicle and exit the airport on Interstate 395, which is also known as the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Highway.
Hints and Tips
See the evidence of prehistoric civilizations at the Grimes Point & Hidden Cave site. Here visitors have the opportunity to view petroglyphs estimated as being somewhere around 10,000 years old. Along the shores of Lake Lahontan are a series of caves ripe for exploration. During the silver mining history along the Virginia Range, horses served as transportation and work animals. Today, nearly 2,000 descendants of these Comstock Lode animals roam freely in the Black Rock Desert. While hiking the trails, guests often catch a glimpse of the majestic mustangs.
