I stayed last night at the Lord Camden Inn in Camden, Maine. Immediately after I booked a nonrefundable reservation, I received an email from the hotel saying that I was automatically being charged an additional $15 for secure parking. There was no opportunity to opt in or opt out. I found this distressing, because I know the town of Camden and could have parked elsewhere. I arrived at night, after dark. My room was very, very cold — apparently the heat has been turned off all day. While I parked my car 2 blocks away and walked back to the hotel, the woman at the reception desk turned up the heat in my room and told me it would take a while for the room to warm up. I was cold! I huddled in my street clothes next to the heating unit and fell asleep that way. Later, when the room and the bedsheets had warmed up, I actually went to bed

The room on the fourth floor was quiet and comfortable, with everything I needed to work for the weekend. The balcony was nice, too, even in the cold weather.

The rooms and guest service was lovely. But I was charged a fee @$15.00 per night for parking and it was a block away from the hotel. The lobby area I thought I would enjoy and have a cocktail in was none existing, had to go down street to their sister hotel for that. Bring in luggage was a challenge as their is no close way to access the entrance. The weather at the time of the stay was bad and there was no place to spend time other than your room. Very disappointed with this location. Not good for people like my mom who can not get around and walk, she would not had been able to stay there with her friends with out my help.
