This place was absolutely beautiful. An amazing getaway in the woods. The creek nearby was so peaceful and the weather is amazing in comparison to Florida. Christmas was well spent and definitely recommend to people wanting a change in scenery. We did this as a babymoon and truly enjoyed the time we spent. Hubby loved the hottub especially with the cool weather.

      Lovely Christmas Vacation

We had a great time on our Christmas Cabin getaway. The cabin was perfect for our stay and we enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub every evening. The cabin had lots of extras such as dishwasher, laundry detergent, spices in kitchen etc. And the kitchen had everything we needed to cook our Christmas meal. Neighbors were very friendly and even took a walk with us and our dogs. Told us all about the wildlife in the area. Loved that we could bring our dogs on vacation with us as well.

We did not enjoy our experience at this cabin.

My family rents a cabin in the Blue Ridge/Elijay area every year. This year I chose this cabin along with my in-laws for the Thanksgiving holiday. I chose it due to the location and also because it was advertised as a "2 for 1" cabin, which would allow ample space for both my family of four (2 adults, 2 kids, ages 11 & 4) and my in-laws. My family took the upstairs portion and my in-laws took the tiny "studio" below. We anticipated a nice, quiet place for our family to enjoy the great outdoors over the holiday, but instead it was a stressful experience and although we had fun exploring the surrounding area, sadly, we did not make good memories in the cabin together. The location is great- close to downtown Elijay, with plenty to do in the surrounding areas. The cabin is pretty on the outside with a large deck area. However, inside, it is very tiny, dark and cramped and full of impractical furniture. Don't expect to enjoy a movie with your family here because there is only one small, uncomfortable and way too tall a "couch" (my husband is 6 ft. 4 in and sitting on it, even his feet barely touched the ground). They had one chair on the other side of the room and it was uncomfortable as well. The loft upstairs is a bit scary w/ young children. Furthermore, the kitchen was very tiny and dark, dining table was in the middle of the living room (odd placement) and the lighting throughout the cabin was so poor we had to use flashlights. We found granola bar wrappers beneath the couch cushions, an old pair of crocs beneath one of the beds upstairs and underwear in the laundry area, which all led to a sense of uncleanliness overall. There was no storage for clothes- the closet door in the main room was broken and hard to get to anyway because the bed was up against it (very small room) and every drawer but one in the sole dresser was broken (so basically, a useless piece of furniture). The outdoor area below near the creek was adequate, but dangerous to walk down to because there were no stairs (especially when it rained, we took a few spills). Overall, this was not a cabin you would want to hang out in due to the layout and impractical furniture. It was the opposite of cozy and comfortable. If you like to cook, then this is also not the cabin for you- tiny, dark kitchen, minimal counter space. Furthermore, the property manager was very unpleasant to deal with. We will take our business elsewhere next time.

            Great location for mountain biking

We came up to ride for 4 days (which ended up being 2 days due to rain). This cabin is only about 10 minutes from the Bear Creek/Pinhoti trails so it's perfect for mountain biking. Cabin is small but has good amenities. It was my family of four plus a buddy, so the downstairs worked great for my buddy since it has it's own bed, bathroom and kitchen. There's not much privacy upstairs, so keep that in mind. There's just curtains separating the main bed from the living room. The loft was great for my 2 teenagers, though you need to make like the Waltons (if you're a light sleeper like me) and all go to bed at the same time, since the wood floors are noisy. There's a creek behind the cabin with a fire pit. There's also a lot of firewood for the fire pit. But most of the logs were too wide for the wood-burning stove. The area was very quiet and the neighborhood was nice to walk around in. There's a decent movie selection which we took advantage of one day where it rained the entire day. Hot tub worked great too.
