The woman at the front desk was super friendly and very helpful, offering recommendations for restaurants in the area, as well as advising us how long it would take to get to the Cog Railway in the morning, and giving us directions.
The signage to get to the room was dark and difficult to see, especially since the sun had recently set. The room was very spacious, but very outdated. The rug had some stains, the wallpaper and furnishings were certainly from a many, many years ago. The mattress also felt old, but we slept fine. The windows were functional, with locking interior shutters (which allowed us to leave the windows open all night). The toilet rocked a little when you took a seat, but the bathroom looked and felt clean. They did offer free Wi-Fi-, which was great because our cell phones (T-Mobile) couldn't connect to our Data or Cell service.
It was certainly not the best place I've ever stayed, and definitely not the worst either. For the price, I felt like it was a touch over-priced, but it was a Saturday night in a busy area and a lot of the other hotels were booked. So I understand their pricing mechanism.
