Very Comfortable & Quiet, Modern Cottage

2 adults, 1 week stay in early October. Little Fox cottage provided all that we needed during our stay in a comfortable and well-constructed cottage. We enjoyed the terrace for morning coffee and breakfasts and for wine & snacks at the end of the day. From the terrace we could view a group of deer grazing on fallen apples each morning. We were either in the park or sailing most days, and only spent one afternoon there during a heavy rain storm (with Netflix and Amazon TV). Cottage is tastefully designed (very Pottery Barn), comfortable, clean, and well equipped. As others have said, yes the kitchen area is small - but perfectly adequate for breakfast and simple preparation. We dined out most evenings - so never cooked or used the outside BBQ. The cottage feels remote and quiet once you are there (mature landscaping makes the cottage more separated from other properties than it appears in some photos), but you are only 2 minutes walk into the village or down to the harbor. We walked into town most days for breakfast supplies, baked breads and groceries, or dinner. A parking space is provided at a neighbor's property, and would be fine for an average sized car, but we had a very large SUV rental (to fit rented bikes inside) and found the parking space awkward to maneuver. Parking was the only downside of the rental and that was only because our SUV rental was so large. Overall, a property that I would highly recommend for a small group or couple that does not intend on lots of home cooking.

        Best Vacation Home Ever Rented.

We loved our stay in this lovely peaceful home! Little Fox is such an amazing place to stay and the location couldn't be any better. It is close enough to the major attractions of the Acadia Nat'l Park without being in the crowd. The house has such charm, from the front porch to the landscaping on the outside. Inside, everything is of superior quality and exceptionally clean. Little Fox is the perfect place to relax, recharge, and enjoy! A special thanks to Cathy, the owner. Since the first contact, she provided us with valuable information and tips about the house, the surrounding area, and the whole Park. Thank you, Cathy, for being so kind to us and allowing us to enjoy your home.

Was an amazing house in a perfect location!

Our family of four had a wonderful experience. The house was well appointed, comfortable and had everything we needed. The location was idea to Bar Harbor and Acadia. The neighbors were wonderful and the entire trip was fantastic. Cathy went out of her way to help provide us with suggestions of places to eat, preferred hikes and other activities I would go back in a moment!

Beautiful and convenient home in Northeast Harbor

We just returned from a lovely stay at Little Fox. We were there with our 10-month-old and 4-year-old daughters and the house was well-suited for our family of four (of note, the house is not child-proofed, but we knew this ahead of time and were okay with it). As demonstrated from the pictures, the house is beautifully finished with modern amenities and pretty art. We also loved being within a stone's throw from town. Our only issue with the house is that the kitchen is extremely small. If you are planning to do any amount of cooking, this is probably not the best house for you -- it has an efficiency kitchen equipped with two burners, no oven, and very little counter space. We managed to have breakfasts and lunches at home, but felt that it was easier to eat our dinners out. We would highly recommend this home to families visiting Northeast Harbor!

              Fantastic rental property!

This was our second visit to Northeast Harbor and we thoroughly enjoyed our two weeks stay in Little Fox. The property is well presented, beautifully decorated and well equipped. It's in a lovely peaceful setting and a perfect base for exploring the rest of Mount Desert Island. Once again we found the owner very helpful and quick to respond to emails. We are already planning to return next summer!
