Lovely Cottage on the Schoodic Peninsula

My husband and I had such a wonderful stay at High Tide Cottage! Pat and Allen, our hosts, could not have been nicer. Pat was very quick to respond to questions and inquiries, which is one of the most important things I look for in a vacation rental. The other important factor to me is how clean the accommodation is, and the cottage was spotlessly clean when we arrived. Everything we needed for a comfortable stay was provided for and while we spent our days exploring Acadia NP and the small villages nearby, we loved coming back to the cottage in the evening, kicking back with a glass of wine and watching a movie. Grand Marsh Bay was just a short stroll away for lovely sunsets and Sand Cove a longer stroll or short drive. One thing to add--the mosquitoes were still prolific in the evenings in September, so the screened-in porch was very appreciated (bring bug spray for when you venture outside of it!) As an added bonus we got to meet the hosts' sweet and energetic dog and make friends with one of their cats (they live across the road from the cottage). Thank you for your hospitality, Pat and Allen! (Tips for future guests--the Pickled Wrinkle down the road in Birch Harbor was our favorite local restaurant and we also loved perusing the Five-and-Dime in Winter Harbor. And the part of Acadia NP on the Schoodic Peninsula was breathtakingly beautiful!)

    Wonderful Stay

We loved our stay at this peaceful cottage in the woods. We didn't feel that it was too far off the beaten path. We enjoyed eating breakfast on the screened in porch. The cottage was in immaculate condition, it was clean and had everything we needed for a perfect stay. The owners were super friendly accommodating. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to stay there again in the future.

    We Found Peace

I almost hate to write a glowing review for fear that this place will be harder to rent but fair is fair. My sister and I booked this cottage when we decided to extend our vacation. We wanted a peaceful place to relax and just reflect on our trip to Acadia NP. We found it at Pat and Allens cottage. From the minute we got there we could feel ourselves relaxing. The house is open and airy with a beautiful screened in porch and huge kitchen. The home was immaculate and set up with some needed items such as mayo, ketchup, spices, coffee a bottle of wine and more. With the windows open and the breeze coming through we had the best nights sleep ever. We spent our time walking to the water, dinner at The Pickled Wrinkle (yum) and enjoying the local scenery. Pat and Allen were gracious enough to allow us some play time with their dog Lucy and we fell in love with her. They are the sweetest, friendliest people ever. Since they live across the street they were always available if we needed anything but never intrusive. The only thing I wish we had done different was stay longer. We have every intention of coming back.....and soon

    Perfect place

My Boyfriend and I loved staying here. The house was perfect has everything you need and it’s super cozy. We really enjoyed having dinner on the screened in porch. The location is perfect to all the best hiking spots especially if you are planning a trip to Acadia, it’s just a hour drive, which really isn’t bad since the drive itself is so scenic. Pat was very welcoming and accomodating. We loved it and will be back for our next hiking trip to Acadia.

    A good place

Pat and Allen were most gracious hosts, and the cottage was perfect for our needs. It is very well appointed with all the necessities. Very comfortable and easily accessible to all of the Schoodic Peninsula. We also spent one day over at Mt Desert, which is just an hour away by car. Location also very quiet as there are only two other houses down the road.
