        I believe the hotel is newly remodeled so they are still working on a few things. The room was good size and pretty comfortable. A few kinks to work out- AC struggles a bit holding temp setting and they seemed a bit low on staff. Otherwise, a very good value and decent location.

        Everything is nice and new in this Ibis hotel, which shares the building with Novotel. The location is obviously close to the Melbourne Central shopping centre and train station in the CBD. The standard room is very compact but the layout is quite efficient and there is still a large flat screen TV, wardrobe space, iron, ironing board, safe, hairdryer and mini-fridge (which was empty even though it had a mini-bar price list on it). No balcony. The bed and bedding are new and comfortable, and the mattress is a proper single piece (not two pieces strapped together). The wash basin and mirror are in the room itself as the bathroom is tiny, but that arrangement works fine. The shower has good water pressure and water temperature. The only thing the room is really missing is table space and a chair, which would make it much easier to use a laptop.
